Is your computer running hot, with loud fans, slowing down, freezing or switching itself off, especially when gaming? It may be overheating. Our Computer Cooling Service gets it running cool and quiet again.
Over time, dust builds up around the fans, heatsinks and air vents and restricts the airflow. Heat also dries out and hardens the thermal paste between the processor or graphics chip and its heatsink, so heat no longer moves away properly.
An overheating computer can become slow and unstable, freeze, crash or restart without warning, and the extra heat puts strain on the parts and raises the risk of permanent damage. Computers over 3 years old are the most likely to need it.
• Temperature testing before and after the service, so you can see the improvement
• Removal of dust from the internal parts, including the fans and heatsinks
• Removal and thorough cleaning of the heatsink
• Removal of the old thermal paste using isopropyl alcohol
• New Arctic MX-6 high-performance thermal paste
• Careful reassembly and final testing
• Standard laptop or desktop computer: £65 + VAT (£78 including VAT)
• Gaming laptop or desktop computer: £85 + VAT (£102 including VAT)
Book your computer in before 10am and our Computer Cooling Service is completed the same day.
This service is for Windows laptops and desktop computers. We don't service Apple Macs.
How do I know if my computer needs it? Loud fans, a hot case, slowing down after a few minutes, or crashing during games are the usual signs.
Will my files be touched? No. The service is a clean and thermal paste replacement; your files and programs are left as they are.
How often should it be done? For most computers, every 2 to 3 years. Gaming computers and computers in dusty rooms may need it sooner.
